Who We Are
The British Columbia Teachers' Federation (BCTF), located on the unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Səlil̓w̓ətaɬ/Selilwitulh, and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nations since 1917, is a union of professionals representing over 52,000 kindergarten to grade 12 public school teachers throughout the province of BC.

About The Role

The duties and responsibilities of an Administrative Support Casual
- manage front desk reception, incoming calls, and message distribution, including operating a switchboard
- monitor shared email inboxes and route incoming emails appropriately
- co-ordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up materials
- arrange travel bookings and assist with event planning and co-ordination
- prepare, format, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, and other documents
- sort, distribute, and process incoming and outgoing mail and courier packages
- maintain physical and electronic filing systems, including document storage and retrieval (on-site and off-site)
- take meeting minutes and transcribe audio files as required.
Experience
- three (3) years of recent experience in an administrative role, with well-developed knowledge of administrative functions, organizational processes, and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other workplace technologies.
- experience planning and organizing conferences or large meetings would be an asset.
Qualifications
- secondary school (Grade 12) equivalent
- a bachelor's degree and/or relevant post-secondary education or specialized training in a related field is an asset.
